To celebrate the release of Despicable Me 3 in cinemas from 15 June, the movie’s mischievous minions Kevin & Stuart took over Carnival Spirit for the day.

With the cruise line and the minions both known for their high fun stakes, it turned into the ultimate meeting of cheeky minds. After boarding in Sydney, Carnival Cruise Line Vice President Jennifer Vandekreeke said the minions swiftly took control of the ship and went totally bananas.

“We’ve all seen the Despicable Me movies but we had no idea that these little yellow characters could get up to so much mischief on our ship,” Ms Vandekreeke said.

“They went nuts over the fruit carving, couldn’t get enough of the Waterpark, where they soaked up some sun and playfully tried to shuffle one another down the Twister waterslide. They had so much fun, rumour has it, Kevin and Stuart will be back with another Despicable friend,” she added.

Stay tuned to Carnival Cruise Line’s Facebook and Instagram accounts for details on how to win one of 50 Despicable Me 3 packs, which include a family pass to see the film.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
