Bright Art Gallery is all set up for its 55th annual exhibit

Preparations are complete for one of Australia’s best known Art Shows in the beautiful town of Bright in north east Victoria.

Stephne McCall, President of the Gallery, says that this year’s show promises to live up to the high standards of the previous ones.

There are 760 paintings on display, showcasing artists from as far away as Sydney and many parts of Victoria. Works will be judged in various media categories, while the Grand Winner attracts a prize of $5,000 and becomes part of the Gallery’s important collection.

The judge this year is Amanda Hyatt, one of Australia’s foremost water colourists and recognised in many other countries.

He says that there is sufficient variety of style and price to suit all tastes and pockets.

The exhibition runs until 14 May making it the longest running art show of this type in Australia.

It coincides with the annual Bright Autumn Festival, famous for the beautiful colours of the Autumn trees.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
