JAYADEEP SOLANKI

AUTOMOTIVE

Jaydeep Solanki is General Motors (GM) Holden’s Director of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, responsible for managing annual $1 billion+ procurement of all parts, material and services for vehicle design, engineering and manufacturing operations in Australia.

Having joined GM India in 1997 after completing his computer engineering and MBA degrees from M S University in Baroda, Gujarat, in 2001, Jayadeep was transferred to Australia to manage the IT programme for the new engine plant in Port Melbourne.

“I instantaneously fell in love with Melbourne’s vibrant culture, community spirit and cafes. I admired the warmth of the Australian community towards new migrants like me. ”

He started his Melbourne journey in Middle Park, where he rented a small apartment with his wife. “Middle Park still reminds and inspires me to embrace this wonderful spirit of Australia. I love how everyone cares about local communities. Good coffee is another incentive that literally makes my day, every day.”

Many factors, including the proximity to the beach, school and vibrant shopping strip, convinced him to make Melbourne home. A happy peaceful spirited home.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
