Wyndham launches online planning register

For the first time Wyndham residents can now view advertised planning applications online, making it simpler for people to engage in the town planning process.

Wyndham City has launched the Online Planning Register, signalling the start of a simpler and more user-friendly future for town planning in Wyndham.

Wyndham City Portfolio Holder for Housing, Cr John Gibbons, said the new online process would make it easier for residents to view and track the status of planning permit applications.

“In the past if a resident has wanted to view a planning permit application they have had to come into the Wyndham Civic Centre and view a hard copy of the application,” Cr Gibbons said.

“Now any advertised planning application can be viewed online, in the comfort of people’s own homes or via their smart phone, where they can also lodge an objection if they wish to do so.”

“The Online Planning Register will make the entire process simpler and more accessible to people who may not have the time or ability to visit Council in person.”

Wyndham City advertises planning applications for a minimum of 14 days to notify surrounding property owners, occupiers and other interested parties of a planning proposal that may affect them.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
